On Wednesday 2nd April 2025, students and staff from Priestnall School welcomed pupils from nearby primary schools and members of the local community to celebrate the official opening of their brand-new sports centre, Club Priestnall.
The newly refurbished sports facilities, generously funded by Andrew Law, will enhance sporting education and opportunities for both students and the wider local community for years to come.
Club Priestnall offers state-of-the-art amenities including a 3G football pitch, a fully equipped gym, a sports hall with climbing wall, and a squash court.
The sports centre has quickly become a hub for local football teams, including the Stockport Vikings JFC and Heaton Mersey Vipers JFC.
At the opening ceremony, attendees were welcomed by student representatives Tomek and Lexi who gave speeches about the impact this new facility has already had on their school experience.
Professional tennis player and former Priestnall student Liam Broady joined Andrew Law to cut the ribbon and declare Club Priestnall officially open.
During her speech, Lexi, a student at Priestnall School, said:
“The impact of these new facilities on students at Priestnall School is undeniable. Hundreds of children will benefit from this space throughout breaktimes, lunchtimes and PE lessons. It will also serve as a valuable resource for the local community.”
This initiative aligns with the Laurus Trust’s ongoing commitment to enhancing physical education and sporting facilities, fostering opportunities for both students and local residents to engage in physical activities and promote overall wellbeing.

“We’re thrilled to see the opening of Club Priestnall, a facility that embodies our commitment to levelling the playing field and fostering a love for sports in our community. We are incredibly grateful to the Law Family Educational Trust for their generous support which has made this possible. We believe Club Priestnall will inspire a new generation of athletes and encourage everyone to lead healthy, active lives.”
