Celebrations are in full swing over at Priestnall School where the Class of 2024 have secured themselves the best GCSE grades the school has ever seen.

The school, which joined The Laurus Trust in September 2023, is beyond proud of all the students who have shown incredible resilience and determination in preparing for their exams. This commitment has been reflected in the student’s results, with almost 40% of all grades awarded being at Grade 7 or above – a fabulous achievement. Other highlights include, an incredible 75% of grades are at Grade 5 or above. In both GCSE English and Maths, a superb 64% of grades are Grade 5+, and a mighty 81% are at Grade 4+.

Rachel Howarth, Head of School at Priestnall School, said:

“We are absolutely over the moon with the fantastic GCSE results of our Year 11 students; we are so proud of them! This success is a reflection of the sheer effort and determination of our students, and their desire to succeed.

“I would like to thank not only their parents and carers for supporting them in the run up to the exams, but also their teachers without whose dedicated hard work these results would not have been possible. These amazing results mark the first step in the Priestnall journey for our school, and the first step for the Class of 2024 in their Life After Laurus; their grades will help to open the door to the future of their choice.

“We wish them all every good luck with the next stage of their journey, wherever that will take them.”
